The Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit is please to host the annual Introduction to Clinical Epidemiology Workshop this year. The dates are November 7th and November 21st. This is a two day interdisciplinary workshop that will provide introductory skills in clinical epidemiology methods.
Clinical Epidemiology addresses clinical issues such as predicting the course and determining the cause of disease, screening and diagnosis of disease, evaluating the burden of illness and quality of life and identifying strategies to improve the quality and outcomes of clinical care.
This two-day interdisciplinary workshop will provide introductory skills in clinical epidemiology methods, including:
- concepts and principles of clinical epidemiology
- potential biases inherent in research designs
- critical evaluation of biomedical research articles
- clinical research study design principles
- application of research results to daily clinical practice
In addition, the workshop will provide an opportunity to connect with other health professionals interested in clinical research. This workshop is open to any health professional in Nova Scotia who is interested in conducting research and has considered how to include research in their clinical practice.
