Regression is a powerful statistical tool that is used to understand or to make predictions about the world around us. Understanding what regression is and when and how it is used is the focus of this introductory workshop. The workshop includes a comprehensive introduction to regression methods and its utility. Equipped with this knowledge, participants will feel more confident in their ability to engage in discussions on the use of regression analyses and in interpreting results from regression models presented in various forms (e.g. print, presentations). By the end of this course, you will be familiar with and able to describe various components of regression and evaluate the results obtained from a regression model.
On completion of Introduction to Regression, learners will be able to:
- Describe what a regression model is and why it is used
- Understand the various regression models available and when they are appropriate to use
- Be able to interpret, make conclusions, and discuss results from a regression model.
There are no prerequisites to this workshop. However, a basic understanding of statistics is recommended. No regression software is required for the course.
